1st Interview

On tuesday we had our orientation interview with the LDS Social Services. They sent us home with a ton of things to fill out and do. Once we fill out the majority of the paperwork they will come and inspect our home and set up personal interviews. And then we just wait to be picked by the birth parents. So exciting!!

Somehow it came up in our interview that I like to blog. The counselor mentioned that blogs are a wonderful idea and can help get a child because the mother will feel that she can see how her baby is doing. So I am thinking about making this blog open to the public. I might edit some things out so I don't offend any potential birth parents.

I have to start preparing myself now for you guys having a baby since there might not be that whole 9 months of waiting...wow! I hope it all works out for the best.

I think a birth mother would love to check out the potential family's blog. It probably helps paint a more full picture than the more formal adoption paperwork.

Hope you find your Juno soon :)

Hey that is an excellent idea! You are such a dear, sweet person Kresta. That will be one very blessed baby to get you as their Mommy.

This is a great idea! Your blog will definitely reveal aspects of your personalities and who you are!

Hi, you don't know me at all, and I hope you don't take offense to this. I found your blog when I googled "not so newlywed" and have been reading it. I never wanted to ask to read your infertility blog, since I don't know you at all. However, now that I've read some of it since it went public, I noticed that it looks like you've only tried insemination. I don't know much about infertility, but my brother and sister-in-law were successful 3 years ago when they tried in-vitro fertilization. Is there any reason why you can't have that procedure done? We are from Michigan, but my sister-in-law is a nurse and knew that this Dr. in Las Vegas was really good. You can check out his website if you want: http://www.haveababy.com/SIRM/aboutSIRM/centers/lasvegas.html His success rate is apparently really high.

Again, I don't really know much about the topic, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid suggestion. I just know that my brother and sister-in-law tried for a long time to have a baby, and this worked on the first try (he implanted 2 fertilized eggs, and one "took"). Then, apparently her body was "cleaned out" after the birth and she was able to get pregnant naturally.

Good luck to you with the adoption! This I guess is just something to think about.
